Ceramic I (Beginners) (AFTERNOON)

Description: Intro to ceramics and how to build art with clay. Hands-on camp!
Attention: Campers will need to pick up an extra hour the following week to paint/glaze their pottery (we will prefer Tuesday, June 9, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm) if they are not taking Ceramic II. If this schedule doesn't work, please talk to the teacher to schedule a different day.
Attention: Ceramics items will not be ready by the end of the camp, as it takes time to get everything ready for the final product. The teacher will give the students a specific day for the pickup of the pottery.

Description: Students will learn the basics of baking, including reading and understanding recipes, using measuring and kitchen tools, decorating and plating, teamwork, and how to properly clean up while baking! We're inviting young bakers to explore the art of baking in a safe, welcoming, and creative environment. Throughout the week, they will experiment with different types of baked goods guided by their tastes!

Mountain Biking Camp: Beginner & Intermediate level (MORNING)

Description: Session 1 – Ages 9 - 14 June 10 - 13, 2024
This camp focuses on bike handling, body positioning, shifting, braking, and trail riding skills. Youth mountain bike attendees will gain confidence in all conditions of riding, improve physical conditioning, develop proper etiquette and trail manners while enjoying local trails.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Mountain Bike, Helmet (required), gloves, eye protection, and water bottle.
GEAR REQUIREMENTS: Campers must have a mountain bike suitable for riding in off-road conditions. We will be riding off-road, over dirt, rocks, and uneven terrain. Campers must wear a properly fitting bicycle helmet and have either a water bottle (that fits in a bike-mounted water bottle holder) or a hydration pack to bring to camp each day. Daily snacks & water will be provided. In order to facilitate an excellent experience for all campers, each rider’s equipment, including bicycles, will be reviewed by camp staff before the first day. Limited loaner equipment is available if the campers are found to have inadequate equipment. All bikes should be 24″, 26″, 27.5", or 29″ rims with multiple gears and minimally include front suspension.
Limited to 15 campers – Utah High School Cycling League (NICA) riders are considered Advanced (including Junior Devo riders) for the purposes of this summer camp.
Golf Camp (MORNING)

ATTENTION: Equipment: golf clubs are not provided, and each participant is responsible for bringing their own. The golf course rents clubs, but you have to reserve in advance.

Students will learn knife skills, reading and understanding recipes, measuring, keeping a clean kitchen, and more. Creativity is encouraged, and we emphasize a fun approach to the kitchen and cooking! Throughout the week, they will experiment with different ingredients, learning about various leaveners and crafting flavorful dishes guided by their palates.

Ages: 2024–25, incoming 2nd through 9th grade.
Description: The camp is for beginners, intermediates, and advanced footballers. This camp is a great warm-up for the Fall Seasons: Flag Football, 7v7, Jr High, Ute Conference, and WFFL Football Leagues, or those just wanting to start learning the game. Saint Joseph High School Head Coach Deshon Bluter, his coaching staff, and guest camp clinicians will work hands-on with the camp attendees to improve their individual skills and techniques. Campers will learn from the best coaches in Utah in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Each camper will leave camp having refined their skills and enhanced their knowledge of all the different football positions, techniques, and football schemes. Saint Joe's Football Camps will provide all the resources you need to take your game to the next level. (Cleats, gym shoes, workout clothes, and your own water bottle are needed for the camp.). Description: The camper will learn how to use I-Movie and operate video cameras, microphones, tripods, lights, and other equipment. Learn to read from a teleprompter and direct a live newscast. The students will produce a small movie and a newscast by the end of the camp. Also, drone cinematography will be offered, and participants will have the chance to fly drones for amazing videos of the city of Ogden and the Wasatch Mountains.
Pirates vs. Harry Potter writers (NEW)

Description:
Learn how to use a traditional quill pen and ink to write your own stories on vintage and scroll-style paper, just like in the Caribbean pirate tales and the Harry Potter series. Students will create pirate and wizard-themed stories, learn how to keep a journal the old-fashioned way, and assemble a small caricature or storybook.
Bring your favorite Harry Potter or pirate outfit to camp to feel fully immersed in the experience.
The camp will provide quill pens, ink, vintage paper, and a vintage-style journal for all participants.
